Product Description

Product Description

Potassium Butyl Xanthate (PBX) is a pale yellow or yellow-grey granular or free-flowing powder that serves as a highly effective flotation collector. With strong selectivity and powerful collection properties, PBX is widely used in the treatment of sulfide multi-metallic ores, particularly for copper and pyrite flotation. Its versatility and effectiveness under various conditions make it a preferred reagent in mineral beneficiation processes.

Key Features and Benefits

Strong Collecting Power:

  • Highly effective in the flotation of sulfide multi-metallic ores, including chalcopyrite, sphalerite, and pyrite.
  • Delivers excellent results for Cu-Ni compound sulfide ores and gold associated with pyrite.

Versatility in Application:

  • Widely used in rough flotation, scavenging flotation, and selective flotation processes.
  • Provides satisfactory results in lead oxide copper ores and sphalerite activated with copper sulfate.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Works effectively in natural circuits for copper ores and pyrite.
  • Suitable for selective flotation of copper sulfide minerals from iron sulfides under proper conditions.

Ease of Use:

  • Recommended feeding method is a 10-20% solution, with typical dosages of 10-100 g/ton depending on ore characteristics.

Applications

Sulfide Multi-Metallic Ore Flotation:

  • Effective for copper ores, pyrite, chalcopyrite, and sphalerite in natural circuits.

Selective Flotation:

  • Useful for separating copper sulfides from iron sulfides.
  • Applicable to the flotation of sphalerite after activation with copper sulfate.

Gold Recovery:

  • Performs well in the flotation of gold associated with pyrite.

Packaging and Storage

Packaging:

  • Steel Drums:
    • 110 kg steel drum with polyethylene bag lining, 134 drums per 20' FCL (14.74 MT).
    • 170 kg steel drum with polyethylene bag lining, 80 drums per 20' FCL (13.6 MT).
  • Wooden Boxes:
    • 850 kg jumbo bags in UN-approved wooden boxes, 20 boxes per 20' FCL (17 MT).

Storage:

  • Store in original, properly sealed containers under cool, dry conditions.
  • Keep away from heat, moisture, and sources of ignition.

Safety and Handling

Precautions:

  • Wear protective gloves, safety glasses, and appropriate clothing to avoid contact with the product.
  • Use non-sparking tools and ensure equipment is grounded to prevent static discharge.

Hazards:

  • Avoid inhalation of dust and vapors; follow safe handling practices as per MSDS guidelines.

Environmental Impact

Eco-Friendly Design:

  • Most of the reagent binds with concentrates and decomposes during processing.
  • Proper handling and disposal reduce risks to the environment.
